Host a Battlelion

Every summer, Tallahassee Soccer Club welcomes dedicated, driven soccer players from out of town who come ready to train, compete, and represent our program with pride. Our ability to do that depends on host families

“To say I was hesitant in the beginning was accurate… but to say I was all in ten minutes after I met Jon and Jose is also very accurate….Our empty nest felt so full and fun. Letting them leave was the hardest part.”

"Our Battlelions players truly felt like family. They joined us at our kids’ events and still keep in touch now that they’ve gone back home."

"We were surprised at how much we fell in love with these boys. They made our home so full and fun during the summer"

Why Hosting Matters

  1. You make the season possible.
Out-of-town players can’t compete without host families. Hosting directly supports our program and helps players live.

  2. Your home gains energy and connection.
Shared meals, laughter, and new perspectives often make a home feel fuller in the best way.

  3. You build a relationship that lasts.
Players are respectful, driven, and grateful. The relationships don’t stop when the season ends. You leave a lasting impact on the players as well. Lea and her family are still in touch and even traveled to support their players later on. Her advice to families considering hosting? “If you’re on the fence, consider saying yes. It might end up being the best part of your year.”

Player Experience Matters

Opening your home to players can leave a lasting impact

"My host family felt more like longtime friends than strangers. They welcomed me with warmth and made their home feel like my own. Living together was easy and natural, and words truly fall short when I try to express how thankful I am. "

"I would not change anything about my experience. My host family were literally the best people I’ve ever met."
